If you’re an artist, join us and help us showcase the talents of adults who have Down syndrome!  Art will be judged by category and prizes will be awarded in each category as well as a “Best in Show” Grand Prize.

  • Performing Arts – Video of a performance (musical or drama)
  • Fine Arts – Painting/drawing, or photography
  • Crafts – Durable (pottery, wood, glass),  Soft (sewing, yarn, embroidery)

Rules for submission

  • Artist must have Down syndrome and be age 18 or older.
  • Artist may submit as many pieces as they like, each piece requires $21 entry fee
  • Submissions must include: Photos or video of submission, photo of artist, brief profile of artist, email for contact, preferred category (judges may adjust the category if necessary).

Meet the Artists!

Sean McElwee

Sean McElwee is 21 years old and happens to have Down syndrome. Sean thrived in inclusion in primary school and survived exclusion in secondary school. He attends community college and is looking for a job. He is a self-professed ladies man, a gifted athlete and has dance moves that own the floor. Sean is the subject of three books and is a motivational speaker.


Sean’s submission is a fan video of “I Lived” by OneRepublic he created using Video Star !

Blake Pyron

Blake Wade Pyron age 19 , Sanger TEXAS High School Graduate . Blake lives life to the fullest ! Blake is a High School Football Captain and has a cheerleader girlfriend . Blake works at TEXAS Smoke BBQ . He recently received Sanger Citizen of the Year and Prom King .

Blake was also the recipient of the first NDSS Ethan Saylor Memorial Scholarship. He was awarded $500 to pursue his interest in guitar. Congratulations Blake!

Craig Eyring

Craig just turned 30 on May 1 st. He loves going to Dollywood where he takes pictures of everything and videos the shows. When given the chance he loves to get up and sing and dance. He loves photography and lives in Sevierville. TN.
